Basil Sunrise Juice
Don’t be surprised if you see a lot of juice and smoothie recipes coming out of Elise’s Kitchen this week. It’s hotter than Hell in Minnesota. Too hot to do any serious cooking.
This juice comes out a tiny bit chunky because of the soft fruits in it, but is so delicious. You can always strain it through a fine mesh sieve and/or some cheese cloth.
Basil Sunrise Juice
Makes one 10-12 ounce glass
In a juicer, combine the following:
- 3 Carrots
- 2 Peaches
- 1 Mango
- handful of Basil
Pour over ice and enjoy!

Sorry it is so hot for you! Hopefully it will cool down soon for you…
Your juice looks pretty fantastical!
What wonderful texture – this looks so healthy and refreshing. Great post!
I love thick juices. I posted a few of my favorite juice recipes a while back, and wasn’t as forgiving as you; I don’t think anyone should ever strain fresh juice. The yummiest bits are the frothy, foamy, chunky bits.
Oh, ok, fine. If you must strain, strain.
Oh I agree with you, I don’t ever strain my juice:)
This looks fantastic!!
What a gorgeous smoothie. I love the combination of carrots, peaches and mango juice. I would love to see all your smoothies in coming days. I also love smoothies especially in hot summer days. Thanks for sharing.:-)
Ugh. I hate hearing that it’s hot up there because it means that it’s going to work it’s way down here and make it even hotter for us too (they’re saying 100 by Thursday).
I guess that means that I’ll be making the smoothies that you’re going to be posting so many of, huh. This one looks fantastic! Good thing my basil’s still going strong outside. Thanks for the recipe.
This is a juice I could drink! sounds refreshing and perfect for this weather! Heat index of 115 today – Hell!
LOVE this juice! And if it’s hotter than hell in MN, we’re swimming in the Earth’s core here in NC. UNBEARABLE!
This looks SO refreshing! We’ve really been into breakfast smoothies lately. Thank you for posting! We like it so much, we had to share this with our readers as well! Check it out here: http://bit.ly/nHiEzL

I love the sound and looks of your smoothies and juices! Definitely going to test them out. Looks good!
