Seriously, your photographs are out of this world? If you don’t mind me asking, what camera and lens are you using for these? Are you just using natural light? I concur with the person above, maple roasted chickpeas…. yum.
Thank you for your kind words:) I will work on that chickpea recipe this week. I have a Canon Rebel XTi and I use a 50mm 1.4 lens. I try to use natural light whenever possible. I don’t have a ton of light in my apartment, so sometimes a rely on my tripod and long exposure shots to get the job done. I shoot most of my food on a black Ikea bar stool that is positioned against my living room window. I use the program Lightroom to do 99% of my editing, and Photoshop for the stuff that Lightroom doesn’t do.
This is such a beautiful website, and Elise!! Your photos are astounding! I know you love to cook, but perhaps you have a second career as a food photographer! Have you submitted any of this (photos or recipes) to the major magazines, or sent a link to this site for reviews?
Your photography is absolutely gorgeous and I’m beyond jealous! I’m getting a Canon Rebel XS next month for my birthday and I’m hoping to learn how to use it so my pictures can turn out half as good as yours Very talented!
Hello. I am a complete stranger who does not know you at all and certainly does not occasionally act as your sous chef. Thus, my comments will be taken seriously, and not as a just because I am your friend…..which I am not, as I am a complete stranger. Have I mentioned that I am a complete stranger and that we do not know each other? Anyway, I, too, would like to say your website rocks and your photos make your food look outstanding. Easily as good as any photo I have seen in a magazine. Keep up the good work. And thanks for the birthday lunch the other day. Uhh….which you certainly had no part of as I am a complete stranger.
Ms. E, You are brilliant! This site is gorgeous & full of information and inspiration.
You go girl! I’m inspired again by you!

Not yet, but its in the works.
Your pictures make me hungry. You make me happy. Much Love!
